<text>The prevalence of obesity, which is a global health problem, is increasing in developing countries due to changes in food and lifestyle. Obesity is a major cause of disease and death. This is difficult to overcome because of its association with an increased risk of Metabolic Syndrome, Cardiovascular disease, Heart Attack, Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus and various types of cancer.According to WHO data, the figure for excess body weight in children and adolescents (5-19 years) is 103 million (10%) for men, and 72 million (8%) for women. In Indonesia, excess weight can affect many things, including other physical health, decreased quality of activities and productivity. The cause of obesity is the energy balance between consumption and calories burned and lack of physical activity The general aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of fermented garlic (black garlic) on obese adolescents at SMAN 5 Binjai City, North Sumatra Province in 2024, his research is a quantitative type with a pre-experiment design whose design uses the one group pretest-posttest design The sample in this research was 20 teenagers who were obese, Data processing and analysis with Editing, Data entry, data analysis, Cleaning. Based on the table data above. It turns out that the Sig values in the normality test all show numbers that are greater than the α value of 0.05. This means that the data distribution of the two sample data before and after the Garlic Fermentation therapy treatment, all come from a normally distributed population. It is hoped that teenagers can reduce their weight by living a healthy life, namely by exercising and eating balanced nutrition to avoid various diseases.</text>

<text>Introduction Surgery is a treatment action that involves making an incision or making a wound in body tissue, with the intention of removing a certain part of the body as a treatment. Operation. Laparotomy is a surgical procedure that involves opening the abdominal wall and chest wall to reach the contents of the abdominal cavity. The digestive surgical procedures that are often performed using a laparotomy incision technique are: herniotomy, gastrectomy, cholecystotomy, hepaterectomy, appendectomy, colostomy, hermorodectomy, cholecystomy, fistulectomy, or fistulectomy . To determine the relationship between early mobilization and the length of wound healing after laparotomy surgery at the Melati Perbaungan General Hospital. 2020. Design Correlative descriptive type research with cross sectional research design cross sectional where data between the dependent variable (early mobilization) and the dependent variable (length of wound healing) are measured at the same time, but not all research subjects are observed on the same day or time . Research methods The data collection method uses primary data, namely the type of questionnaire on the sample. Secondary data is data that supports this research such as health center profiles and annual reports. Results From the statistical test results , the value of p=0.000 was obtained , which means there is a significant relationship between early mobilization and wound healing in patients after laparotomy surgery. Meanwhile, the OR value = 0.067, meaning that respondents who do not carry out
early mobilization are likely to have a 0.067 times greater risk of slow healing compared to
those who carry out early mobilization. Conclusion Of the 30 respondents, the majority carriedout early mobilization, namely 18 people (60%), who experienced rapid healing of wounds after laparotomy surgery, namely 16 people (53.3%) Suggestions Researchers are expected to seek more knowledge about early mobilization and laparotomy .</text>

<text>Hypertension is a predominant health issue in the geriatric population, contributing significantly to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, and frailty. Major challenges in managing hypertension in the elderly include polypharmacy, declining organ function, and medication adherence. Apium graveolens (celery) contains apigenin and 3-n-butylphthalide, which are known to possess vasodilatory effects. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of Apium graveolens administration as a complementary therapy for the prevention and control of stage I hypertension among the elderly in a rural community setting. Methods:This study employed a Quasi-Experimental design with a Pre-test and Post-test Control Group approach, conducted in Bagun Rejo Village from January to March 2025. The subjects comprised 80 elderly individuals (aged 60 years) with grade I hypertension, selected via purposive sampling. Subjects were divided into two groups: the Intervention Group (n=40), which received a standardized dose of Apium graveolens extract for 8 weeks, and the Control Group (n=40), which received standard lifestyle education. The primary parameters measured were changes in Systolic Blood Pressure (SBP) and Diastolic Blood Pressure (DBP). Data analysis was performed using the Paired t-test and Independent t-test with a 95% confidence level (=0.05).Results: Baseline characteristics between the two groups were homogeneous. After 8 weeks of intervention, the Intervention Group demonstrated a significant reduction in SBP from a mean of 152.4 mmHg to 138.2 mmHg (p < 0.001) and a reduction in DBP from 94.5 mmHg to 86.1 mmHg ($p < 0.05$). Conversely, the Control Group showed no statistically significant changes. Furthermore, no significant gastrointestinal side effects or electrolyte disturbances were observed in the group consuming Apium graveolens, indicating a favorable safety profile for the elderly. Conclusion:The administration of Apium graveolens proved effective in reducing both systolic and diastolic blood pressure in elderly individuals with grade I hypertension . These findings support the potential of Apium graveolens as a safe and affordable adjuvant therapy in community-based hypertension management strategies, aiming to reduce the burden of polypharmacy in the geriatric population. Integration of this program with the Integrated Healthcare Center for the Elderly (Posyandu Lansia) is recommended for sustainability.</text>

<text> Gastrointestinal disorders are common complaints among older adults due to
progressive functional degeneration. With the increasing global elderly population, safe
and non-pharmacological independent nursing interventions are needed to manage
digestive pain. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of acupressure intervention
in reducing pain levels among elderly individuals with gastrointestinal disorders at the
UPTD Elderly Social Service Center in Binjai. This quantitative study employed a quasiexperimental design using a one-group pretest–posttest approach involving 25
respondents. The intervention was administered through manual pressure on meridian
points ST36, ST25, LI4, and CV2. The results showed that most respondents suffered from
GERD (36%) and gastritis (32%). Prior to the intervention, 68% of respondents
experienced moderate pain; after the intervention, the proportion of moderate pain
decreased to 40%, while mild pain increased to 60%. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test
revealed a p-value of 0.008 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant effect of acupressure on
reducing gastrointestinal pain intensity among the elderly. Acupressure therapy is
therefore recommended as a holistic nursing care approach to improve the quality of life
of older adults</text>

<text>Breast cancer and its treatments impose a complex symptom burden that negatively affects patients’ quality of life. Self-management support (SMS) is a patient empowerment strategy aimed at enhancing independence in nursing care. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of SMS on the quality of life of breast cancer patients at Haji General Hospital Medan. Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a pre–post test control group approach. The sample consisted of 60 respondents (30 in the intervention group and 30 in the control group), selected using purposive sampling. The intervention group received structured education and self-monitoring guidance for 8 weeks. The research instrument used was the EORTC QLQ-C30 questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Paired T-test and Independent T-test. Results: There was a significant increase in the mean quality of life score in the intervention group, from 52.3 to 75.6 (p < 0.001), while the control group showed no significant change (p = 0.125). Intergroup comparison after the intervention revealed a statistically significant difference (p = 0.000). The emotional functioning and pain management domains showed the most substantial improvements. Conclusion: Self-management support is effective in improving the quality of life of breast cancer patients. This intervention is recommended to be integrated into standard oncology nursing care to promote patient independence in managing treatment-related side effects.</text>
