<text>Breast cancer and its treatments impose a complex symptom burden that negatively affects patients’ quality of life. Self-management support (SMS) is a patient empowerment strategy aimed at enhancing independence in nursing care. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of SMS on the quality of life of breast cancer patients at Haji General Hospital Medan. Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a pre–post test control group approach. The sample consisted of 60 respondents (30 in the intervention group and 30 in the control group), selected using purposive sampling. The intervention group received structured education and self-monitoring guidance for 8 weeks. The research instrument used was the EORTC QLQ-C30 questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Paired T-test and Independent T-test. Results: There was a significant increase in the mean quality of life score in the intervention group, from 52.3 to 75.6 (p < 0.001), while the control group showed no significant change (p = 0.125). Intergroup comparison after the intervention revealed a statistically significant difference (p = 0.000). The emotional functioning and pain management domains showed the most substantial improvements. Conclusion: Self-management support is effective in improving the quality of life of breast cancer patients. This intervention is recommended to be integrated into standard oncology nursing care to promote patient independence in managing treatment-related side effects.</text>

Objective: This study aims to analyze the factors that influence mothers' behavior in implementing the LINTAS Diarrhea program in Bangun Rejo Village, Tanjung Morawa District, Deli Serdang Regency. Method: This analytical cross-sectional study involved 35 mothers of infants selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire and analyzed using the Chi-Square test ($p<0.05$). Results: The majority of respondents had good knowledge (62.9%), positive attitudes (60.0%), supportive family support (57.1%), and easy access to information (65.7%). Knowledge ($p=0.001$), attitude ($p=0.020$), family support (p=0.003), and access to information (p=0.002) were significantly associated with mothers' behavior in LINTAS Diarrhea. Conclusion: Knowledge, attitude, family support, and access to information influence mothers' behavior in the prevention and management of diarrhea. Keywords: Diarrhea, LINTAS Diarrhea, Mothers' Behavior, Risk Factors</text>

<text>Background: Mental health among adolescents remains a major public health concern, with stigma, lack of awareness, and limited services acting as barriers to care. The Health Belief Model (HBM) provides a framework to improve health behaviors through modifying perceptions of risk, benefit, and self-efficacy.

Methods: This quantitative study employed a pre-experimental design with a two-group pretest-posttest approach. A total of 50 adolescents aged 12–16 years in Desa Bangun Rejo were recruited using cluster sampling and divided into experimental and control groups (25 each). Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires measuring self-awareness, self-efficacy, and emotional regulation before and after HBM-based educational intervention. Data analysis used descriptive statistics, Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test, Levene’s test, and independent t-test with a significance level of 5%.

Results: The experimental group showed an increase in mean score from 66.00 to 87.60 (p < 0.05), while the control group improved from 64.96 to 76.48 (p < 0.05). Independent t-test results indicated a greater mean improvement in the experimental group (difference 11.12, t = 3.754, p = 0.001), confirming the effectiveness of the HBM intervention in increasing mental health accessibility and reducing anxiety levels.
Conclusion: HBM-based interventions significantly enhance adolescent mental health accessibility by improving self-awareness and self-efficacy, thus supporting better emotional regulation.</text>

</text>
