With the increasing global elderly population, safe and non-pharmacological independent nursing interventions are needed to manage digestive pain. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of acupressure intervention in reducing pain levels among elderly individuals with gastrointestinal disorders at the UPTD Elderly Social Service Center in Binjai. This quantitative study employed a quasiexperimental design using a one-group pretest–posttest approach involving 25 respondents. The intervention was administered through manual pressure on meridian points ST36, ST25, LI4, and CV2. The results showed that most respondents suffered from GERD (36%) and gastritis (32%). Prior to the intervention, 68% of respondents experienced moderate pain; after the intervention, the proportion of moderate pain decreased to 40%, while mild pain increased to 60%. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test revealed a p-value of 0.008 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant effect of acupressure on reducing gastrointestinal pain intensity among the elderly.
