Salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi kegagalan pelaksanaan pemberian ASI ekslusif adalah faktor pemberian makanan prelakteal. Di Indonesia, presentasi pemberian makanan prelakteal pada bayi baru lahir adalah sebesar 43,6%. Tujuan penelitian Untuk mengetahui Hubungan antara Pengetahuan Ibu Tentang Inisiasi Menyusui Dini (IMD) dengan Pelaksanaan IMD di Klinik Pratama Sunartik Metode Penelitian Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah desain analitik korelasi studi Cross Sectional, Populasinya semua ibu nifas di Klinik Pratama Sunartik Kec. Sunggal Kab. Deli Serdang dengan sampel ibu nifas yang memenuhi kriteria sebanyak 42 orang. Analisis data dengan uji Chi-Square (X). Hasil penelitian: Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa responden Mayoritas Pengetahuan Baik yang melakukan pemerian IMD sebesar 18 responden (75%), sedangkan Minoritas pengetahuan baik tidak melakukan pemerian IMD sebesar 4 responden ( 22%). Dan mayoritas pengetahuan yang tidak baik yang tidak melakukan pemerian IMD sebesar 14 responden(77,8%) sedangkan minoritas yang pengetahuan tidak baik tetapi melakukan IMD sebasar 6 responden (25%).
